what's truly saddening is adoration for fighter pilots and romantic manly delusions of war connected to them.
secondly, i am becoming sick of endless wars and now with killer robot machines people we have made into enemies, without which we could not have perpetual war, can be killed from nevada or elsewhere with the american public only invested through there tax dollars.
the enemy said he would bleed us financially and cost us our freedoms and by that measure he has won.
please take your fantasy and go off into the wild blue yonder.

Fantastic post. I long ago realized that many aviators have an artistic side. Most of them are musicians of one sort or another. There's obviously a scientific side to aviation -- the engineering, mechanics, etc. But there's definitely an artistic aspect as well. At least, there is for those who recognize and appreciate it!

Great sentiment, Brent! This is exactly why I think photography from an airplane is special - finding perspectives and playing with light in ways that only a pilot can. I think our ships themselves are works of art, as I'm certain you know well from having built yours. Where else but aviation do science and art blend so successfully?

Hi Brent, I did not realize our military was not going to have a presence at airshows this year. A huge hit. This is really a troubling and yet interesting dilemma we will continue to be presented with in the future. Where and what do we support will all depend upon perceptions of future benefit.

The problem we face is we need to inspire more math and engineering students. We need technology to inspire. The fascination with our military jets did this. Inspired our youth.

I believe there is a bit of short-sightedness. But then if you're a politician and have never been inspired by anything but politics... how do we get them to see the light? Not sure. Excellent post.
