FLIGHT: The Movie
[sc:Top-of-Post ]
UPDATE: 11/03/12
You may have heard, but in case you haven’t, there is a flying movie out November 2nd called ‘FLIGHT’.
It stars Denzel Washington, which I’m a huge fan, and it is directed by Robert Zemeckis, who did ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘Cast Away’.
I saw the movie Saturday night and while it doesn’t involve much flying, it’s mostly about alcohol and drug addiction, the flying that was presented was mostly realistic – not all of it.
Mostly its dramatic, but there are some funny parts, especially with John Goodman.
It’s not a movie that I would watch twice or anything, but I generally enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Now out on DVD rental,
I finally had the opportunity to watch the movie ‘Flight’. The movie reminded me somewhat of a blend of two real life stories about a North West Airlines flight crew arrested in Mpls some years ago and Capt. Norman Lyle Prouse going to prison for two years….and the Alaska Air MD-83 plunging into the Pacific off the coast of California when the T-tail jack screw jammed and the liner went into an uncontrolled dive.
I was lucky enough to get of a copy of Capt. Norman Lyle Prouse hour long AA talk at our local Holliday Inn. Now Retired his life story alone would make an amazing movie !
