RV8Some of the folks that frequent this site will know that my RV-8 has been down for maintenance. Luckily that has been remedied (more on that in a future article) and I am once again back flying my favorite airplane.

Conveniently I needed to test  fly both the airplane and my new GoPro. The images you see below, and the tail-cam in the video, are some samples. The wing mounted camera is my old Drift 170HD, which has been working better lately for some unknown reason.

The flight took me from my home base at Buckeye “Intranational” Airport, over to Lancaster for some landings, and then up to Newark to repeat the exercise. I’m happy to report that the airplane, the cameras, and even the pilot performed to standards.

The video is 3:30 and in the famous words of Abe Lincoln, “I would have made it shorter if I had more time.”

It’s tuned for maximum cheesiness from the music to the self-indulgent editing – enjoy!

Since YouTube insists on making video playback more cumbersome than filing your taxes, I offer the video in Vimeo as well (for mobile users).

Let me know your thoughts. If you hate it, I especially want to hear from you.
